Placencia is a Peninsula located 27 miles off the Southern Highway via Monkey River and Maya Beach. Monkey River is the first village on the road to Placencia Belize. This tiny village takes pride in preserving the rivers eco-system and offers educational and Eco-friendly tours. Maya Beach is a huge area filled with resorts and vacation rentals. Placencia Belize is basically a vacation strip of mainland occupied by American Expats and tourists. It borders the Caribbean Sea on the east, and a lagoon on the west.

Things to do in Placencia Belize
Even though Placencia is a small village, there are so many things to do and see. Snorkeling in Placencia has become a #1 bucket list activity. Diving with Whale Sharks is also a “Once in a lifetime” experience you don’t want to miss. Hop on a sophisticated catamaran and sail an entire day on the ocean. Get a chance to visit a few private Islands (island hop), or simply relax, take a few drinks, enjoy the ocean breeze and get that nice tan. Popular places to visit are: The Great Blue Hole, Laughing Bird Caye, Gladden Spit and Silk Cayes Marine Reserve.
Another big rage in Placencia Belize is Fly fishing. Anglers from all over the World visit Placencia every year just to catch their Grand Slam.
